YATE (BS17) VOLUNTARY LINK is the Volunteer Bureau for Yate and district: if you are interested in giving up a little (or a lot) of your spare time we can advise you about the opportunities best suited to your skills and interests and help you find volunteering placements…you may already be a volunteer, but you need some advice and support - we will do our best to help you.
Our work doesn't stop there….if your group needs volunteers, why not register with us? It costs nothing but a few minutes of your time and we can advertise your needs in our office, the local media and also a national volunteering Internet database.
At our office in Yate Library we also have a library of resources for community groups, such as information about starting and managing groups and low cost photocopying. The Community Resource and Information Base is manned by volunteers who, along with the Volunteer Bureau Co-ordinator, will be pleased to help you.
The Volunteer Bureau was started in 1985 and is supported by South Gloucestershire Council Community Services. We are members of the National Association of Volunteer Bureaux and network with other Bureaux, as well as organisations and groups within the voluntary and statutory sectors. The Bureau is managed by co-ordinator Carole Zorzo and overseen by a Management Committee.
BS17 Voluntary Link is currently working with Bristol training group Progress to provide training workshops for volunteers in the area. For more information, please get in touch.
